Two Tips of Installing Rubber Rolls Flooring

When installing rolled rubber flooring, it is recommended that you use some kind of adhesive to prevent the rolls from moving around or sliding apart between adjacent rolls. The two most common methods of adhering rubber rolls to your base floor are:

A) Double sided tape installation

Directions:
1. Clean your sub floor so that it is free of all dust, dirt, grease or other irrelevant sundries.

2. Lay out the rolls on the floor as you would like them to finish a complete installation. The rolls should be directional to make sure the color matches on each roll.

3. Make any necessary cuts to the rolls to fit them into the floor using a straight edge and a utility knife with a fresh blade.

4. Apply double sided tape to perimeter of each roll.

5. Place the back of rubber rolls into position on top of the double-sided tape.

B) PU adhesive installation

Directions:
1. Clean your sub floor so that it is free of all dust, dirt, grease or other irrelevant sundries. Also, when gluing your flooring down, it is recommended that the sub floor is free of any moisture.

2. Lay out the rolls on the floor as you would like them to finish a complete installation. The rolls should be directional to make sure the color matches on each roll.

3. Make any necessary cuts to the rolls to fit them into the floor using a straight edge and a utility knife with a fresh blade.

4. Roll up the rolls at one end of the floor. Put down a 10-foot-long light layer on adhesive and unroll 10 feet of the flooring onto the adhesive at a time. Repeat this step for every 10 feet of roll length until the entire roll has been unrolled into its desired position.

5. After all rolls have been glued down, it is often recommended to use a 100-pound roller on the floor in order to guarantee good stickiness to the sub floor. If a roller is not available, walking on the flooring in small choppy steps to ensure every spot of flooring has been walked on can also work.

* We recommend using a poly urethane adhesive, waterproof & cold-resistant.
